is an imaginative concept designer with a passion for visual communication. Always looking for a creative, alternative solution to a complex project. Always trying to improve the way he visualises his concepts for the public.

Originally an urbanist, but doesn’t prefer to box himself in. Ideas and creations aren’t filtered by profession, they’re led by extensive research and creative thinking, in and outside the borders of a project.

Here creative and innovative thinking were highly valued. At the core of this course was to push beyond the status quo and come up with new ways of thinking about spatial design. To me, this is what´s necessary to shift towards a better future and better urban spaces. It looks at spatial design through new glasses, leaving -if necessary- the old ethics behind.

After college I began an architecture course at the University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam. Here we focused on the technical part of architecture, how to detail, and how to design with engineers in mind. Although the education was of a high level, I noticed that the creative and innovative part of spatial design was my passion. This realisation led me to change schools and start a new course at the University of Arts; Spatial Design.

Creative and innovative thinking is becoming vital. Spatial Design -at the University of the Arts is on the foreground of this shift.

For Ludo conceptual design is a tool to refer and address a narrative or problem.

For me conceptual design is a way to refer to- and address a narrative or problem. The goal is to cultivate change and movement within society. Which is why I try not to be boxed in by profession but rather let myself be guided by extensive research, in and outside the borders of a project. This can lead to traditional (urban) design, temporary interventions or strategic visions. In whatever way or form, it leads to something that has an impact and goes beyond the status quo.

I approach my concepts with an imaginative and visual work method. With a wide set of skills -reaching from Adobe CC, modelling, rendering to GIS and even some animation- narratives and concepts are merged into visual presentations that speak for themselves.

I currently have several years of experience in the field of Urbanism. I have worked at several offices in the Netherlands that try to approach Urban design with a new way of thinking. I have been valued for my extensive visual skills, untraditional, unfiltered way of thinking and unique approach to projects.
